The Land Rover Defender 110 is now assembled at JLR's Pune facility for Indian buyers, with prices from Rs 99 lakh ex-showroom (New Delhi). Bookings are open now, and deliveries begin on 15 November 2026.
India is the first market outside Europe to build the Defender locally. The Defender 90, the Defender 130 and the Defender OCTA are still made in Nitra, Slovakia. The 90 and 130 continue to be sold here as fully imported cars (CBUs).
Prices and variants
The locally assembled range has three variants, one for each powertrain. All are 110 models with an eight-speed automatic as standard.
| Variant | Engine | Output | Ex-showroom |
|---|---|---|---|
| X-Dynamic HSE P300 | 2.0-litre petrol | 296bhp, 400Nm | Rs 99 lakh |
| P400 | 3.0-litre petrol | 394bhp, 550Nm | Rs 1.18 crore |
| X-Dynamic HSE D350 | 3.0-litre diesel | Not announced | Rs 1.18 crore |
For comparison, the imported Defender 110 started at Rs 1.35 crore ex-showroom before options. The India-built range costs less, and JLR has made up to 29 features standard across it.
Standard features and engine differences
On the CBU, up to Rs 6.5 lakh worth of features were optional. On the India-built P300 they are standard:
- Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control and Terrain Response 2
- Electronic Air Suspension with Adaptive Dynamics
- Solar Attenuating Windscreen and Headlight Power Wash
- ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror
- Three-zone Climate Control with Rear Cooling Assist
The P400 costs Rs 1.18 crore. For that money it adds 98bhp and 150Nm over the P300. The D350 costs the same and is the diesel option. Its output figures have not been announced, and these prices do not account for running costs.
