Toyota's ninth-generation Hilux is in India at ₹31.99 lakh–₹36.69 lakh. Here's the full variant-wise price list, engine specs, colour options, what's new over the outgoing model, what's been dropped, and where to get the official brochure.
Toyota has launched the ninth-generation Hilux in India, with prices starting at ₹31.99 lakh and going up to ₹36.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are open now, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second week of August 2026.
Toyota Hilux 2026: Variant-Wise Price List
- GX 4x2 AT — ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom)
- GX 4x4 AT — ₹33.69 lakh (ex-showroom)
- VX 4x4 AT — ₹36.69 lakh (ex-showroom)
This is a price hike over the outgoing Hilux — the entry variant is up by roughly ₹3.47 lakh, while the range-topping VX 4x4 costs about ₹69,000 more than its predecessor. It's also the first time Toyota has offered the Hilux in India with a 4x2 (rear-wheel-drive) configuration at the base GX level — the previous generation was sold as 4x4 only.
Engine and Transmission
Every variant shares the same powertrain: a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel producing 204hp and 500Nm, paired exclusively with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. The manual gearbox option from the previous generation has been discontinued — the new Hilux is automatic-only in India. Unlike the Fortuner, there's no mild-hybrid assist on this engine.
4x4 variants get a low-range transfer case, an electronic locking rear differential, multiple terrain modes, hill-descent assist, and an auto limited-slip differential.
What's New vs the Previous-Generation Hilux
- Fully redesigned exterior with a more upright front end, bold 'TOYOTA' block lettering in place of a badge, slimmer LED headlamps, and a honeycomb grille
- All-new dashboard and interior layout, with a new three-spoke steering wheel
- Larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (on higher trims), up from the smaller unit on the outgoing model
- Wireless phone charger and an 8-speaker audio system
- New 4x2 rear-wheel-drive variant added to the range for the first time
- 360-degree camera and connected-car technology now included
What's Been Removed or Dropped
- Manual transmission — no longer offered; the new Hilux is automatic-only
- ADAS (adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring) is not offered on this generation
- Dual-zone automatic climate control is absent — the cabin gets manual air-conditioning instead
- Ventilated front seats are not available on any variant
Colours
The 2026 Hilux is offered in six monotone shades: Super White, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red, and Sulphur Metallic. Note that Sulphur Metallic and Attitude Black are reserved for the range-topping VX trim.
GX vs VX: Which Variant to Pick
The base GX trim (available in both 4x2 and 4x4) is the value pick but goes without several convenience and tech features that the higher trims carry. The VX 4x4 is the fully-loaded option, with the bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless charging, and the wider colour palette, for around ₹70,000 more than the outgoing top variant — reviewers have generally called it the pick of the range if budget allows the jump to 4x4.
Safety Equipment (All Variants)
Seven airbags, vehicle stability control, ABS with brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts are standard across the lineup.
