By Arjun Ramanarayanan, IndiCar · Published 5 October 2026 · Launches
The updated Toyota Glanza debuts on 14 October with a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol, Level 2 ADAS and ventilated front seats. Here is what is confirmed, what is expected, and what the current Glanza costs on the road in Mumbai today.
The facelifted Toyota Glanza debuts in India on 14 October 2026. It is a mid-life update, not a new car: a redesigned grille and front bumper outside, the same cabin layout inside, and a new engine and a longer feature list underneath. The image above shows the current Glanza that IndiCar stocks today, not the updated one.
What is confirmed and what is expected
Toyota has fixed the 14 October debut date. Most of the rest comes from reports ahead of the reveal, so treat it as expected until Toyota publishes the spec sheet.
- Engine: a 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, reported at 83 hp and 112 Nm, with a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
- CNG: a CNG version with about 70 hp and a manual gearbox is expected to continue.
- Features: Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with ventilation and tyre pressure monitoring.
- Left out: no sunroof and no digital driver's display.
- Design: new grille and front bumper. Reports differ on whether the lighting and alloys change, so wait for the official images.
Expected price
Expect a small premium over today's range of Rs 6.73 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom. One report puts the new starting price near Rs 6.75 lakh. Toyota has not announced prices, so we are not publishing a variant-wise table yet.
What the current Glanza costs on the road in Mumbai
If you are comparing, here are today's real numbers for an individual registration in Mumbai, from IndiCar's price list.
- Glanza E petrol manual: Rs 6,73,000 ex-showroom becomes Rs 8,03,513 on the road. That is Rs 92,631 for registration and road tax, Rs 36,382 for first-year insurance and Rs 1,500 for FASTag.
- Glanza V petrol AMT: Rs 9,99,000 ex-showroom becomes Rs 11,74,477 on the road.
Budget about 17 to 19 percent above the sticker price, and expect the facelift to land in the same range. You can price any current variant on the Toyota Glanza page.
Should you wait for the facelift?
Wait if ADAS or ventilated seats matter to you, because the current car has neither. Buy now if you want a car in the garage before the festive weeks: Navratri starts on 11 October and Dhanteras is on 6 November, and new models usually take a few weeks to reach showrooms in volume after the debut. A debut date is also not the same as deliveries. Our view: the current Glanza is the safer pick for a Dhanteras handover, and the facelift is the better buy only if you can live with a longer wait.
If you want a similar car with more space, look at the Toyota Hyryder, which IndiCar has in ready stock.
