Tata Motors has folded its hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs and EVs under one new consumer-facing identity - TATA.CARS, with the promise 'Nothing's Too Far'. Here is what actually changes, and what doesn't, for anyone buying or already owning a Tata.
Tata Motors has given its car business a new face. On 27 August 2026, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles unveiled TATA.CARS as its consumer-facing identity - one brand pulling together every hatchback, sedan, SUV and electric car it sells, under a single promise: "Nothing's Too Far."
It is a big-sounding change with a narrow real-world footprint. Here is what it actually means if you are shopping for a Tata, or already drive one.
Until now, "Tata Motors" covered everything from trucks and buses to the Nexon in your neighbour's driveway. TATA.CARS carves out the passenger-car side and gives it its own name - the one customers have informally used for years anyway. Tata's reasoning is that people already say "I'm buying a Tata car," so the brand may as well say it too.
The identity comes with a full visual system. There is a design idea Tata calls Parallel Pathways, drawn from the parallel lines inside the Tata "T" and from road markings - meant to suggest different journeys heading the same way. The principal colour is named Ambition Blue, there is a custom typeface called Parallel Display, and even a new sound signature for ads and showrooms.
Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, framed it as "more than a new brand identity - a declaration of intent for the future we envision," pointing to a customer base of over 70 lakh cars on Indian roads.
Almost everything you interact with as a buyer.
Nothing to do. Your warranty, extended warranty and annual maintenance contract are all held by the same company as before. Service history, roadside assistance and parts supply are untouched. Over the coming months your usual service centre will swap in new signage and updated paperwork branding - that is the extent of it.
You will start seeing the TATA.CARS name across Tata's website, ads and social channels first, followed by a rollout of a more modern, premium showroom format at dealerships. In a city like Mumbai, where Tata runs a dense dealer network, expect a stretch where some outlets carry the new look and others still show the old one. It has no bearing on pricing, variants or offers - a Harrier bought from a not-yet-updated showroom is the same car, same warranty, same deal.
Rebrands like this are aimed at showroom walk-ins and brand perception, not at the metal. For a buyer, the useful filter is simple: judge the car, the on-road price and the after-sales network, and treat the new logo as background noise. If you are cross-shopping a Tata SUV against other brands, our new car catalogue lets you line up on-road Mumbai prices side by side before you walk into any showroom - new signage or old.
No. Model names, variant badges and the Tata logo on the vehicle are all unchanged. A Nexon is still a Nexon. The rebrand affects showroom branding, advertising, the website and service touchpoints, not the product.
It does not. The company behind the warranty and service network is still Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited. Your existing warranty, AMC and service history carry over exactly as before - only the showroom signage and paperwork branding will gradually change.
Tata.ev stays. It continues as the identity for Tata's electric cars and its dedicated EV showrooms, sitting under the wider TATA.CARS umbrella that now covers both petrol, diesel, CNG and electric models.
Tata has said the rollout is progressive over the coming months - digital channels and marketing first, then a more modern, premium showroom format across dealerships. Expect a mix of old and new signage in the city for a while.
