The Skoda Kylaq is cheaper at the bottom of the range and the Toyota Taisor is cheaper at the top. The Kylaq starts at Rs 9,06,071 on-road in Mumbai, which is Rs 8,048 below the Taisor's Rs 9,14,119. The most expensive Taisor, at Rs 15,61,591, is Rs 9,493 below the most expensive Kylaq at Rs 15,71,084. These prices are IndiCar's own price list for Mumbai, for individual registration. The Kylaq list is dated 1 October 2026 and the Taisor list 12 October 2026. For the full lists, see the Skoda Kylaq prices and Toyota Taisor prices pages.
The headline numbers side by side
| Skoda Kylaq | Toyota Taisor | |
|---|---|---|
| Priced variant combinations | 13 | 10 |
| Cheapest on-road | Rs 9,06,071 (1.0 Classic Petrol Manual) | Rs 9,14,119 (E Petrol Manual) |
| Most expensive on-road | Rs 15,71,084 (1.0 Prestige Plus Petrol Automatic) | Rs 15,61,591 (V Turbo Petrol Automatic) |
| Fuels | Petrol | Petrol, CNG |
| Gearboxes | Manual, Automatic | Manual, AMT, Automatic |
| At or under Rs 10,00,000 on-road | 2 of 13 | 1 of 10 |
| At or under Rs 15,00,000 on-road | 11 of 13 | 9 of 10 |
If your ceiling is Rs 10,00,000 on-road, the Kylaq gives you two combinations to look at and the Taisor gives you one. At Rs 15,00,000, the Kylaq has 11 and the Taisor has 9.
Where the cheapest variants differ: the on-road build-up
The Taisor has the lower ex-showroom price, but the Kylaq has the lower on-road price. The Taisor E starts at Rs 7,43,000 ex-showroom against Rs 7,59,000 for the Kylaq Classic. The Taisor then gives that advantage back through higher charges in Mumbai.
| Cheapest variant | Skoda Kylaq | Toyota Taisor |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-showroom | Rs 7,59,000 | Rs 7,43,000 |
| RTO registration and road tax | Rs 94,630 | Rs 1,00,485 |
| Insurance (first-year comprehensive) | Rs 51,591 | Rs 69,134 |
| FASTag | Rs 850 | Rs 1,500 |
| On-road | Rs 9,06,071 | Rs 9,14,119 |
RTO, insurance and FASTag are all higher on the Taisor. Compare on-road figures, not ex-showroom ones. You can also run your own numbers in the on-road price calculator.
Automatics: where you start
The cheapest Kylaq automatic is the 1.0 Classic Plus Petrol Automatic at Rs 11,07,560 on-road. The cheapest Taisor automatic is the S Petrol AMT at Rs 10,91,365 on-road. On these two entry points the Taisor is the cheaper way into an automatic. Note that the Taisor's cheapest automatic is an AMT, while the Kylaq's is listed simply as Automatic, so you are not comparing the same gearbox type. Drive both before you decide.
The Taisor's CNG option
Only the Taisor offers CNG in this comparison. The cheapest CNG is the E CNG Manual at Rs 10,09,230 on-road. The Kylaq is petrol only. Whether CNG makes sense depends on running costs, which these figures do not cover, so treat the on-road price as only part of the decision if you drive a lot.
Mid-range pricing
The middle of the Kylaq range is the 1.0 Sportline Petrol Manual at Rs 13,68,174 on-road. The middle of the Taisor range is the S Petrol AMT at Rs 10,91,365. Because the Kylaq has 13 combinations and the Taisor has 10, and the Kylaq's list runs to more higher-priced variants, the midpoints sit far apart. The gap here comes from where each lineup spreads its variants, not from one car being priced above the other like for like.
What each step up the range adds
The facts we have describe the cheapest variant of each car, so that is where the comparison of features can be made.
The Kylaq Classic, at Rs 9,06,071, comes with:
- Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes
- Driver, co-driver, front side and curtain airbags
- Radio fitment preparation, with front tweeters (2)
- An analogue 4-dial instrument cluster with a 3.5-inch TFT display (MAXIDOT)
- A 12V power socket in the front centre console
The Taisor E, at Rs 9,14,119, comes with:
- Dual front airbags plus side and curtain airbags
- Vehicle stability control (VSC) and hill hold assist
- Rear parking sensors with infographic display
- ABS with EBD
On safety content at the entry level, the Taisor lists stability control, hill hold and parking sensors, which the Kylaq's entry list does not show. The Kylaq's entry list shows driver, co-driver, front side and curtain airbags and notes that its audio is only a fitment preparation, so you would need to budget for a speaker and head unit setup. We do not have the Taisor's infotainment facts or either car's higher-variant features, so we cannot say what each step up adds beyond price. Check the feature list of the variant you are considering on its IndiCar car page.
Who each car suits
- Choose the Kylaq if you want the lowest on-road entry price, Rs 9,06,071, or if you want the widest spread of variants, with 13 combinations and 11 at or under Rs 15,00,000.
- Choose the Taisor if you want a cheaper automatic entry (Rs 10,91,365 for the S Petrol AMT) or if you want a CNG option from Rs 10,09,230.
- At the top, the Taisor V Turbo Petrol Automatic at Rs 15,61,591 is Rs 9,493 below the Kylaq 1.0 Prestige Plus Petrol Automatic, so price will not separate them there.
These are purchase prices only. Fuel, servicing and resale are not covered in our facts, so do not treat the cheaper car on-road as the cheaper car to own.
What IndiCar confirms before you book
- The full on-road quote for your exact variant, split into ex-showroom, RTO, insurance and FASTag, matching the figures above.
- Whether the insurance quote is first-year comprehensive. Taisor insurance on the cheapest variant is Rs 69,134 against Rs 51,591 for the Kylaq.
- The feature list for the variant you want, since the entry-level lists differ in safety and audio.
- For the Kylaq, what it costs to fit audio, as the Classic has radio fitment preparation only.
