MG Windsor EV vs Mahindra BE 6: Mumbai on-road prices compared

The MG Windsor EV starts at Rs 15,83,326 on-road in Mumbai and the Mahindra BE 6 at Rs 20,42,215, a gap of Rs 4,58,889 between the cheapest variants. Here is the full breakup.

The MG Windsor EV is the cheaper car in Mumbai on the on-road totals we have. Its cheapest variant, EXCITE Electric Automatic, costs Rs 15,83,326 on-road. The cheapest Mahindra BE 6, One Electric Automatic, costs Rs 20,42,215. That is Rs 4,58,889 more for the BE 6. At the top of each range the gap widens to Rs 10,25,680, again in the Windsor's favour.

These prices come from IndiCar's own price list for Mumbai (individual registration), dated 22 September 2026 for the Windsor EV and 12 October 2026 for the BE 6. Both cars are electric and automatic only, so the choice is about budget and equipment, not fuel or gearbox.

How far each range stretches

The Windsor EV range is compact. Four of its five priced combinations are at or under Rs 20,00,000 on-road, and the fifth, ESSENCE PRO, is Rs 20,37,157. If your ceiling is Rs 20,00,000, you have four Windsor variants to choose from and no BE 6 variant.

The BE 6 spreads wider. Three of its six combinations are at or under Rs 25,00,000 on-road and five of six are at or under Rs 30,00,000. Only the Batman Edition, at Rs 30,62,837, goes past that. If your budget is around Rs 25,00,000, the BE 6 gives you three variants, including Two Electric Automatic at Rs 23,61,492.

What the entry variants include

The facts we hold cover the cheapest variant of each car, so that is what we compare.

Windsor EV EXCITE lists:

  • Safety: 6 airbags (dual front, side and curtain), 3-point seat belts and seat belt reminder on all seats, electronic stability program, hill hold assist and hill descent control.
  • Infotainment: 25.6 cm (10.1 inch) touch display, USB, FM and Bluetooth music and calling, steering-mounted audio controls, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
  • Charging points: USB chargers (front 2: Type A and Type C; rear 1: Type C) and a 12V power outlet.

BE 6 One lists:

  • Safety: 6 airbags (front, side and curtain), disc brakes front and rear, electric parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring with individual tyre pressures, ISOFIX rear seats and electronic stability program (ESP).
  • ADAS: driver drowsiness detection.
  • Infotainment: dual 12.3-inch screens, performance dashboard, 6-speaker audio with sound staging, Sonic Suite signature sounds, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, built-in Amazon Alexa and ChatGPT.

The two lists differ in what they name, and a list is not a full picture of what each car has, so check the feature sheet for your variant. The BE 6 entry car lists larger dual screens, a 6-speaker system, tyre pressure monitoring and a driver drowsiness alert. Both have 6 airbags, ESP and wireless smartphone mirroring.

What each step up the range adds

The Windsor EV climbs from EXCITE (Rs 15,83,326) through ESSENCE (Rs 18,26,072) to ESSENCE PRO (Rs 20,37,157). The BE 6 climbs from One (Rs 20,42,215) through Two (Rs 23,61,492) to the Batman Edition (Rs 30,62,837). We have not been given the feature lists for the higher variants of either car, so we will not guess what the extra money buys. IndiCar provides the variant-by-variant feature sheet before you book, so you can see exactly what you gain for each step in price.

Who each car suits

  • Windsor EV: you want an electric car with an on-road price under Rs 20,00,000. Four of five variants fit that limit.
  • BE 6: your budget starts above Rs 20,00,000 and you want the larger screens, the tyre pressure monitoring and the choice of six variants up to Rs 30,62,837.

These prices do not cover running costs, battery or charging, so the purchase price alone does not settle which car is cheaper to own.
