MG has launched the Windsor EV Indulge Edition at Rs 17.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It is built on the Essence trim and comes only with the smaller 38kWh battery pack. It costs roughly Rs 73,900 to Rs 89,000 more than the regular model, depending on which report you read. For that money you get a two-tone Shadow Gold and Black finish, black and tan seats and a flip-down screen for rear passengers. The motor and range do not change. In Mumbai, the five Windsor EV versions on IndiCar's price list run from Rs 15,83,326 to Rs 20,37,157 on-road.
The price, and what the premium buys
The edition is priced at Rs 17.89 lakh ex-showroom. Reports do not agree on the exact premium. One puts it at about Rs 73,900 over the regular Essence variant, which is the trim the Indulge Edition is based on. Another says it is nearly Rs 89,000 more than the standard model. In both versions the premium is under Rs 1 lakh, and it pays for appearance and rear-seat comfort rather than any mechanical change.
According to reports, bookings are already open. MG times the edition with the Windsor EV's second year on sale in India. It follows the earlier Inspire Edition.
What changes on the outside
The edition uses a two-tone scheme, according to reports.
- The body is finished in Shadow Gold, and the upper section and roof are painted Black.
- The alloy wheels are black and stay at the same 18-inch size as the standard car.
- The outside mirrors are blacked out.
- Indulge badges sit on the C-pillar.
What changes inside
- The upholstery is black and tan, with "Indulge" embroidered on the front headrests.
- Rear passengers get a flip-down PRIVE Screen as standard.
- Front occupants get neck cushions, and the rear seats get pillows. All of them carry Indulge badging.
Reports also list the Windsor EV's equipment, which is not specific to this edition:
- A 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster
- An Infinity 9-speaker audio system
- Ventilated front seats
- A glass roof and ambient lighting
- A PM2.5 filter
- A 360-degree camera
- OTA updates and Wi-Fi connectivity
- A wireless charger and an auto dimming IRVM
An optional accessory package can be added on top. It includes a rear sunshade, themed 3D mats, chrome accents for the front grille, bumper corner protectors, body side moulding and a leather key cover.
Battery, motor and range
The Indulge Edition is offered with the 38kWh pack only. According to reports, the motor makes 100kW (136PS) and 200Nm, and the ARAI certified range is 332km. If you want the larger battery, this edition is not available with it.
Windsor EV on-road prices in Mumbai
IndiCar's price list dated 22 September 2026 covers five Windsor EV variant and powertrain combinations for individual registration in Mumbai. All five are electric with an automatic gearbox. The price list does not yet include the Indulge Edition.
| Version | Ex-showroom | On-road, Mumbai |
|---|---|---|
| Excite Electric Automatic (cheapest) | Rs 14,69,800 | Rs 15,83,326 |
| Essence Pro Electric Automatic (most expensive) | Rs 18,99,800 | Rs 20,37,157 |
The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive on-road price is Rs 4,53,831. At Rs 17.89 lakh ex-showroom, the Indulge Edition falls inside the range set by these two versions.
Where the on-road money goes
On the cheapest version, the on-road price is Rs 1,13,526 above ex-showroom. This is the breakup:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Ex-showroom price | Rs 14,69,800 |
| RTO registration and road tax (Mumbai, individual) | Rs 1,770 |
| Insurance (first-year comprehensive) | Rs 96,208 |
| TCS | Rs 14,698 |
| FASTag | Rs 850 |
| On-road price | Rs 15,83,326 |
Registration and road tax come to only Rs 1,770. First-year insurance, at Rs 96,208, is by far the largest item between the ex-showroom and on-road prices. Check the insurance line first when you compare on-road figures across Windsor EV versions. You can see any version's breakup with the IndiCar on-road price calculator.
Who the Indulge Edition suits
It suits you if your rear passengers matter as much as you do. The rear screen, the pillows and the tan cabin all serve the back seat. If you would otherwise buy an Essence and want the Shadow Gold look and these extras, the reported premium of about Rs 73,900 to nearly Rs 89,000 is the price of that choice. Battery, motor and range stay the same.
It suits you less if you mainly care about range or want the larger battery, because the edition comes only with the 38kWh pack and its 332km ARAI figure. It also does nothing for you if you are shopping at the Excite end of the range on price. This comparison covers purchase price only. Running and charging costs are not part of these figures.
